India fined Google by Rs. 936 crore
Google, owned by Alphabet Inc, was fined Rs. 936 crore by India on Tuesday. The US Company was found guilty of abusing its market position to promote the company's payment app and in-app payment system.
Just four days ago, Google was found guilty of allegations related to Android mobile devices. A fine of Rs. 1,337 crore was imposed there.
The Competition Commission of India or CCI tweeted, 'Google has been found guilty of abusing its dominant market position in the case of Android mobile devices. Google has been fined for this.’
This is a big blow for Google's Indian arm. According to Google, the next decision will be taken after the review.
